Half Cow Deposit – Sold Out

$500.00

This non-refundable $500 deposit reserves your half cow and goes toward your final payment.
The remaining balance will be calculated based on $5.50/lb of the hanging weight of the cow.
Expected average hanging weight for a half cow is between 250 lbs and 300 lbs.
This will yield somewhere between 150 lbs and 175 lbs of packaged beef with the option to keep bones for bone broth if desired.
Once the hanging weight has been confirmed by the processor your remaining balance will be due before pick-up.
Upon your reservation, you will decide whether you want to pick up at the farm in Winterville (just outside of Athens) or at the processor (North Georgia Meat Company in Ellijay).
After your half/whole reservation, we will contact you to go over a cut sheet to customize your beef order to fit your wants and needs.

A half cow is a great size for large families or even smaller families who cook a lot and have the freezer space. The half and whole options provide the best price per pound and allow you to customize your cuts

Our practices allow the cow performs its role in the carbon cycle and sequester carbon back into the soil through organic matter.  Over time this improves the soil’s water-holding capacity.  When it rains, instead of running off, the water percolates through the soil, naturally filtering through the ground and eventually feeding back into our watershed.
